ESPAÇO, SOCIEDADE E NATUREZA EM RONDÔNIA

Resumo

No decorrer do século XX a geografia de Rondônia passou por diversas transformações estruturais em sua relação homem-natureza e sociedade-espaço. Baseado na tese do geógrafo Milton Santos sobre os meios geográficos natural, técnico e técnico-científico-informacional, o texto analisa as mudanças espaciais evidenciadas em Rondônia, indicando os elementos estruturadores do espaço regional. Assim, o meio natural manifestou a produção extrativista e a circulação ferroviário-fluvial. A colonização agrícola, a migração camponesa, a construção das estradas e a formação das cidades produziram o meio técnico. A coerência regional de Rondônia será afetada pela hidrovia Madeira-Amazonas e a produção da soja, somada a urbanização e a
modernização da pecuária, ambos os processos instauradores do meio técnico-científico-informacional.

Abstract

During the twentieth century, the geography of Rondônia went through several structural transformations in its human-nature and society-space relationship. Based on the thesis of the geographer Milton Santos about the geographical environments: natural, technical and technical-scientific-informational, the text analyzes the spacial changes evidenced in Rondônia, indicating the structuring elements of the regional space. Thus, the natural environment expressed the extractivist production and the railway and waterway transport. The agricultural colonization, the peasant migration, the road construction and the formation of the cities produced the technical environment. The regional coherence of Rondônia will be affected by the Madeira-Amazon waterway and soybean production, added to the urbanization and the modernization of the livestock, both processes were founders of the technical-scientific-informational environment.
