CARTOGRAFIA DA MATRIZ GEOGRAFICA DA FITOTERAPIA
Resumo
Este artigo analisa como foi formada a matriz geográfica da fitoterapia ocidental, evidenciando que suas bases se organizaram a partir de conhecimentos botânicos originados na Ásia e na África. Com base em uma revisão histórica e comparativa, apresentam-se tradições terapêuticas antigas como as chinesa, indiana, persa, mesopotâmica e egípcia e os processos de circulação desses saberes entre essas diferentes regiões. Conclui-se que a fitoterapia ocidental tem origem em saberes ancestrais asiáticos e africanos, que moldaram o pensamento médico ocidental por meio de amplas trocas interculturais posteriormente sistematizadas pelos europeus.
