ANCESTRY, MEMORY AND FREEDOM IN MEMÓRIAS SUBTERRÂNEAS BY MUDUNGAZI
Abstract
Memoria subterrânea, (2024) by Mudungazi, stage name of Isaías Mucindo Armando Mate, is about the "portrait of the hidden things about what happened in Mozambique and what is still happening in Cabo Delgado", that is, the armed conflicts that have left a large number of people dead or displaced, mostly the Maconde, Macua and Mwani ethnic groups. This review proposes to establish a dialogue between the hidden things, the great dream and the moments in which the author refers to the conflicts generated by the anti-colonial war that occurred in Mozambique and to the current ethnic conflicts.
