A CONFLITUOSA RELAÇÃO DE ALFREDO COM A EDUCAÇÃO E O LUGAR: REPRESENTAÇÃO NA OBRA CHOVE NOS CAMPOS DE CACHOEIRA

Abstract

Este artigo tem como objetivo fazer uma discussão sobre a conflituosa relação do personagem infantil Alfredo com a educação e a Vila de Cachoeira, representadas na obra Chove nos Campos de Cachoeira, de Dalcídio Jurandir. A pesquisa é histórica e tem como principal fonte a literatura da Amazônia. A discussão teórica conta com os estudos de Roger Chartier e Walter Benjamin. Concluímos que pelo viés da percepção literária e poder criador, o olhar crítico do personagem Alfredo em relação à educação e ao lugar demarca uma total falta de identidade com a realidade de Vila de Cachoeira, por não vê neste lugar uma perspectiva de futuro, ocasionada pelo abandono do poder público, pelos métodos ultrapassados de ensino. Considerando estes pontos, o personagem começa a planejar sua fuga na certeza de constituir uma nova identidade num outro lugar.

THE CONFLICTIVE RELATIONSHIP OF ALFREDO WITH EDUCATION AND PLACE: REPRESENTATION IN THE KEY WORK IN THE FIELDS OF CACHOEIRA

This article aims to discuss the conflict between the child character Alfredo and education and Vila de Cachoeira, represented at Chove nos Campos de Cachoeira, by Dalcídio Jurandir. The research is historical and its main source is Amazonian literature. The theoretical discussion relies on the studies of Roger Chartier and Walter Benjamin. We conclude that, due to the bias of literary perception and creative power, the critical look of the character Alfredo in relation to education and the place marks a total lack of identity with the reality of Vila de Cachoeira, as he does not see in the space a perspective of the future, justified by abandonment of public power, due to outdated teaching methods and his own social condition, facts that lead him to plan his escape in the certainty of constitute new identity elsewhere.
